Lentil Soup

Just because you don’t understand your gift, doesn’t mean it’s not a gift. You never know a value of a thing till its gone. Esau DESPISED his birthright, I mean it was doing him no good at the time, right? He was toiling day to day in the field and didn’t see why it was valuable UNTIL it was gone. He sold ALL his birthright for a bowl of soup. Yep. His momentary temporary situation (hunger) caused him a lifetime of bitterness and regret.
If he understood what he had he would not have sold it for ANY amount. Do you know what you have? Just because you seem to be standing still and not where you thought you would be doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. Esau simply couldn’t see the value or his life being any better, but Jacob could and did take advantage of his elder brothers ignorance. After Esau was aware of his lost he wept BITTERLY! And BEGGED for what he not too long ago despised. I’m sure he couldn’t even remember what that lentil stew tastes like.

This season may be a tough one.. But in your next this will be the stuff blogs are made of. This will be your platform on which you state the claims of Christ. This will be what pulls someone through. This will be what catapults you into purpose. Don’t sell your birth right! Don’t despise your gift.
“Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.” Genesis 25:34 KJV
