Mediocre

Sadly, at the age of 49, I am only just now learning to slow down, live in the moment, and truly enjoy life. I’m beginning to understand that it’s okay to live on my own terms and to embrace my full, authentic self.

For most of my life, I was merely surviving—never thriving. I had no goals, no dreams. My days were consumed with trying to make rent on time, trying to get at least six hours of sleep, trying to walk a thin line so my family wouldn’t resent me, trying to be quiet enough for people to accept me, trying to blend in just enough to avoid drawing attention to myself. The list goes on.

All of it—this constant striving just to remain mediocre and broke—was never worth it. That was not God’s best for me. That was never His plan for my life. I was living a compromised existence because I placed people where only God should have been.

But not anymore.

Now, I live for His approval alone. My time on this earth is limited, and not a single day will be added to my life based on who likes or agrees with me. So, I choose to live boldly, unapologetically, and without regret or the need for permission.

I don’t care who gets mad or who walks away—because at the end of the day, I have ONE life. And when I leave this world, I’m leaving EMPTY.
